We believe that sustainability thrives where innovation, collaboration, and responsibility intersect: transforming challenges into opportunities for a circular and resilient future.
We participated in Sustainability Day 2025, hosted by the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh (UN GCNB) at The Westin, Dhaka. This year’s theme, “Catalyzing Change: Bangladesh at the Crossroads of Innovation,” underscored the nation’s journey toward sustainable transformation.
Our Sr. Manager – Sustainability, Mr. Mashook Mujib Chowdhury, shared his insights in the panel discussion on “Greening Real Estate, Industry & Infrastructure in Bangladesh,” highlighting the need for climate-responsive design, renewable technologies, and sustainable industrial growth.
DBL Group also showcased its circular economy initiatives through a dedicated exhibition stall. We brought to life the concept of Industrial Symbiosis: showcasing how cross-industry collaboration can transform waste into value. Among the featured initiatives were:
• Recycling textile waste into sustainable readymade products: Giving a second life to pre-consumer fabric waste through upcycling and circular design, reducing landfill burden and promoting responsible consumption.
• The TileChalk Initiative: repurposing ceramic waste into eco-friendly tile chalks and slates, distributed to local schools and restaurants
• ETP sludge utilization: supplying treated sludge to LafargeHolcim for use in cement production, promoting circular resource use
We extend our appreciation to UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh for convening a platform that inspires shared learning, innovation, and bold action toward a greener and more inclusive Bangladesh.
